Chart To Comfort
Claim God's control in my life, and admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and my life is unmanageable.
Openly admit that God exists, that He loves and cares for me, and that He has the power to restore me.
Mindfully commit my life and will to God's merciful care and control.
Frankly focus on my faults, confess them to God, myself and to another person I trust.
Obey and submit to any changes God wants me to make in my life.
Reevaluate all my relationships; offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I have done to others when possible, without expecting anything in return.
Target a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer so that I come to know God's will for my life and gain the power to do it.
Sacrifice myself to be used by God to bring this Good News to others, both by my life example and by my words
Recovery Care Conduct
- During sharing time, keep focused on your own thoughts and feelings.
- Limit your sharing time to 3-5 minutes. This gives each of the "confidants" an opportunity to share their thoughts and cares.
- Confidentiality is essential within a Recovery Circle. What is shared in a Circle stays in the circle!
- There will be no cross talk, please. Cross talk is when 2 individuals engage in a dialogue, excluding all others. Each person is free to express his or her feelings without interruption.
- We are here to comfort one another. We will not attempt to "fix" one another.
- Offensive language will not be allowed in a Christ-centered Recovery Circle environment.
